The masked Egyptian performer Tul8te played the North Coast this summer in a yellow Valentino floral shirt and red trousers, a real departure from the all-black uniform most similarly styled performers default to. Since the mask means the shirt is doing essentially all of the visual work, the choice to go maximalist with a print rather than staying safe reads as deliberate. The show also previewed material from the upcoming album Sadeek El Bernameg, a breakup record built around the format of a late-night Egyptian radio show, including a new track, “Haneish,” performed with Palestinian-Chilean artist Elyanna.

The shirt itself is part of a bigger shift. Floral prints have pulled menswear away from the quiet-luxury minimalism that dominated the last few seasons, showing up in Saint Laurent's and Dior's spring 2027 menswear collections, and on Pedro Pascal (in Chanel, at the Oscars), Charles Melton and Andrew Garfield over the course of this year. Part of the appeal is that it's a relatively low-commitment way into bolder dressing, no subculture affiliation required, as long as a few rules hold: keep the floral as the only pattern in the outfit, lean toward muted tones like wine or mustard over anything too saturated, and pull trouser colors from somewhere already present in the print rather than introducing a third color.
