AI's role in fashion has moved well past generating mood-board images. Research tools like Perplexity now let brands sift market shifts and emerging trends for credible, current information fast enough to actually inform strategy in real time, while generative platforms like DALL-E and Midjourney handle the visual side, turning text prompts into mood boards, mockups and color variations designers used to spend days producing by hand.

The forecasting side has gotten more specific, too: Heuritech runs a master algorithm combining five separate forecasting methods and claims roughly 90 percent accuracy predicting what's coming next, with 2025 calls including boho chic rendered in suede, yellow tones, hot pants and asymmetrical silhouettes. On the commercial side, Luxurynsight's LY Price platform tracks currency fluctuations so luxury brands can adjust pricing roughly twice as fast as competitors who are still doing it manually, while also scanning more than 300,000 secondhand listings a month to read desirability patterns before they show up in primary sales data.

Less visible but arguably more foundational: MicroDoing builds trend and customer-engagement training directly into day-to-day workflow rather than pulling staff into separate sessions, and Prodify handles the data-security and compliance layer that lets brands run all of the above without exposing customer data in the process. Taken together, the pitch is less “AI replaces designers” than AI cutting the waste, in both time and unsold inventory, that comes from decisions made on instinct alone.
